daylight's listening post

Yes I did a podcast, partially out of curiousity and boredom, and partly I want people to listen to some music that I like and say stuff like, "Wow, you listen to good bands! You're so coool!!!". and I've been keeping it on the DL because it's probably going to tear up my bandwidth alottment and also because I can't stand the sound of my own voice and the stupid, totally uninsightful things I say. anyway, I'm already on episode 3...and Here is the podcast page.

saturday weekend

THREE DAY WEEKEND... Due to President's day. We couldn't be bothered to celebrate individual birthday's of the greats in the previous presidencies so we lumped it all together and said, Abe Lincoln, George Washington(not bush)...here's to you! We'll all take the day off. I am thinking about seeing a movie tonight. Maybe 'Date Movie', cause I need a cheap laugh and not something overly serious and dramatic. Work is fine, laden with tasks and unmeetable deadlines... Home life is sparse and generally queit - Tv, Movies, Eating out once a week, sleeping, reflecting, incubating, waiting for the next weekend..., etcetera. No complaints...just gripes.

night pictures

I Couldn't sleep last night so I took some night photos: The camera has a high sensitivity mode which basically means it keeps the shutter open for 4-6 seconds. You have to hold the camera really still or it all comes out shaky: So I sat the camera on the concrete base of a light pole in order to get some tripod emulation and I was really surprised at the quality of the picture, keeping in mind this parking lot was pitch black with the exception of the street light in the corner: The road has a kind of quiet stillness at this time of night, with no traffic or pedestrians. It feels sort of spooky, like a ghost town. I think I always liked that about the night because it made it feel more like it was all my own. the population of the city streets dwindle and you don't have to share that space with all those people rushing about in the day time. Of course, this might not be as true in a major urban area It's one of the nice things about a small city, the spaces in between people are greater, talking in terms of physicality.

the ghost

saturday today, traces of the week in my surroundings...sleepless naps under my desk at work. It's strange how the distractions don't work when you need them most. Maybe next post I'll stop speaking in prose.

late late

as the weekend takes over, the hours are reversed and I find myself here at the dark and cold moment of 3 am. things happen but I'm not writting about them because they all lead down the same path of introspection and too much introspection keeps you awake at night. But I am awake anyway. Life is the anticipation of the next moment and the memory of the last. The present is untouchable.

common senseless

This morning I learned that brushing your teeth while you have gum in your mouth just doesn't work like I'd hoped it would.
